This cobalt blue pair of resin earrings are absolute little beauties! The color is very deep and the closest I can get it to naturally found blue pigment. Cobalt blue has been used by artists for centuries because of its vibrancy and depth of color. It really is stunning.
Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought after stones because of its deep celestial blue color. I just had to incorporate this in my design. Lapis Lazuli was among the most highly prized tribute paid to Egypt, obtained from the oldest mines in the world, worked from around 4000 B.C. and still in use today.
Cobalt blue pigments are made using cobalt salts of alumina. It has been used for centuries to color ceramics, particularly Chinese porcelain and of course also paint. The amazing depth of color is what makes it so sought after. I think you’ll agree that I have emulated this shade well with this pair of bold earrings.
